Fun on the Web Oct 11 2014 TV for Me

Most of my readers know that I changed jobs and am working more hours plus driving more (again). Getting to the computer has been hard when I could actually for m a sentence much less a coherent thought. Once again I am going to try to get at least 5 posts a week up here and make at LEAST one of them chatty.

So today I ran around and did errands all day, but I had a break in the middle where I sat in a comfy chair at the library and finished my book. Yes I still read books I can hold in my hand but I do use the library for sourcing movies, music and seasons of TV series.

Since I got rid of the TV's in my house my watching habits have changed a great deal. I tend to watch with as few commercials as possible, which actually means I watch more shows. I also binge watch (which if you haven't heard means watching episode after episode of the same show from DVD's or your computer,)


I did find a great site which used to offer free all the current shows and some standbys. Unfortunately it changed to a paid service http://www.tvonline.cc/  still offers some shows free ( I am watching SOAP, what a hoot!) and the first two episodes of every TV season for free which helps when you are playing "catch up". They offered me some free credit to their subscription based system so I still watch a bit since its a stable platform with no commercials and seems to have a wide range of channels.

https://www.netflix.com/?locale=en-US is probably the most popular and starts at $7.99 a month. My kids like it but I am just not willing to pay for TV right now when I can watch most everything for FREE. Hey if anyone has figured out how to watch USA network online let me know please because that is where my gap is right now.

http://www.hulu.com/ is another popular choice both in it's Fee version (I have watched quite a few things there) and in a subscription based (starting at $7.99) version.

http://www.yidio.com/ is more of a portal
