Fun on the Web June 25, 2013 Mug cakes

In a hurry for a treat? Make a cake in a mug. 10 Recipes for delicious treats

Here is one example. For others follow the link and click after the picture of your desired cake where it says "make" and the name of the cake.

Nutella Mug Cake
Ingredients
4 tablespoons self rising flour
4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons Nutella
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil

Method
Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug. Whisk well with a fork until smooth. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 – 3 minutes. (Time depends on microwave wattage. Mine took 1 1/2 minutes.) Top with whipped cream and a little chocolate sauce if desired.

Fun on the Web June 12 2013 Graduation

So it's been exhausting. My son and daughter in law from out of town were in residence at my son's house that is 45 minutes from me one way. So I drove up and down the freeway all weekend and visited with them and my three grandchildren. The oldest graduated from high school. It was awesome but I am sooo tired.

Fun on the Web June 4 2013 Homade Cleaners

Drain cleaning
Pour equal arts baking soda and vinegar into your sink or disposal. It will sizzles and bubble up like a volcano, but it won’t harm anything. Then run the disposal and wash it all down with hot water.

This also works for clogged drains too. Pour in the baking soda, then some vinegar, watch the fizzing (which is really fun!) and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then pour a tea kettle of boiling water down the drain to rinse it all out.

Window Cleaning
Vinegar/Water or Club Soda
Fill the bottle with 1 part filtered water and 1 part White Distilled Vinegar (or 8 ounces (a cup) of each). Or, fill it with straight club soda for no smell cleaning.

To infuse vinegar with citrus
After you eat your orange, save the peel and put it in a jar or other air-tight container and cover the peels with white vinegar. Let it sit for a couple of weeks (don’t need more than two), then strain out the peels and you have orange-scented vinegar! Of course, lemons and limes also work very well for this.

Fun on the Web June 3 2013 Chicago Blues Festival

Baby don't you wanna go-oh? I know I do, but I have company for the weekend and my granddaughters graduation, so it won't happen for me again this year . . .sigh. The 30th Annual Chicago Blues Festival will be June 7, 8 and 9th in Grant Park right there in downtown Chicago.
