Years ago I read a series of historical fiction, romance or lady porn depending on your perception about Angelique written by Sergeanne Golon (the name is a representation of Serge and Anne Golon) who have a back story that is almost more interesting than their books. Anne starting writing in France during WWII becoming published at age 18, cycles from occupied France into Free Spain, helped create the magazine that eventually became the publication known as France.
