Fun on the Web Feb 1, 2012 Mardi Gras

Did you know Mardi Gras is really a season? Starting on Twelfth Night (Epiphany) Jan 6 a season of parties begins along with one parade by Phunny Phorty Phellows - Streetcar Route, 7:00 p.m

Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday, is the last day of feasting before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. It was common to use up your fat and sugar before Lent begins so different cultures offer different delicacies. In Milwaukee with its large Polish population we think Paczki (a jelly filled sugared donut), in New Orleans its King Cake. http://mardigrasday.com/mardigras/kcrecip.php
