Best to avoid the agony so familiarize yourself with what poison ivy, oak and summac look like before you go hiking but if you do contact it, wash the area with Fels Naptha Soap (if you can find it). Otherwise find a lye soap in a large grocery store laundry section. While you are there get bleach (to wash your socks, flip flops and pants), oatmeal (for poltices), and Benedryl along with a good supply of alchohol. Trust me, you are going to want a drink or four.
